Software Required

• ScannerCast Free, supply your RadioReference.com username and password to have it configure itself.

ScannerCast Setup Instructions

Quick Start to Launch and Stream

1. Launch ScannerCast.
2. Select your scanner model. Select Audio Only if you are not sending tags.
3. If you're sending tags, select the COM port that's connected to your scanner.
4. Select the "Icecast" tab at the top.
5. Check "Send Stream To Icecast".
6. Check "Auto-Configure my RR Feed".
7. Enter your RR user name and password.
8. Click "Login To Get RR and get config".
9. After you see the green check beside "Feed To Send" chose your feed.
10. Press "Start Broadcast".

Note: You may have to allow ScannerCast through your firewall.

Advanced Setup Instructions

Config Tab:

• Scaner Model: Select Audio Only for any scanner model. Select Uniden or GRE if you plan to broadcast tags.
• Server: Stream Name: Enter the name of your feed.
• Server Port: Leave as is unless you need to change it.
• Audio: Sound Input: Select the Sound input for your computer. Note: It is best to select a specific sound card/input and not "Primary Sound Capture Driver".
• Audio: Set MP3 Bit Rate to 16kbs for a mono stream or 32kbs for a stereo (dual scanner) stream.

Change your feed Display Name:

1. Select the "Config" Tab.
2. Press "Stop Broadcasting".
3. Enter the name of your feed into the "Stream Name" text box.
4. Click "Start Broadcasting" -- this saves the settings and restarts your stream.

ScannerCast will now send your feed title instead of "K1PGV ScannerCast!".

Everyone will now know it is your stream they are listening to when they use any of the players.

Icecast Tab:

• Use Quick Set up instructions to auto config your feed.
• For manual, input the needed info.

Status Tab:

No changes needed

Advanced Tab:

Check Enable Stereo Input if you are doing a stereo (dual scanner) feed.

Check Resume Broadcast on Restart if you want ScannerCast to auto start on computer start.

Check "Minimize to System Tray" and "Start Minimized" before you press "Start Broadcast" if you want those features.
