Operations Issues and Fixes

• I cant get Sentinel to open / start
  • Follow these steps

1. Be sure Sentinel is not running.
2. In Windows Explorer, look for this folder on your computer: C:\Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\Local\Uniden
3. In that folder, you will see a sub-folder that begins with "HomePatrol_Sentinel.exe_Url_"
4. Delete that entire sub-folder (it contains the "user.config" file).... be sure you are deleting that specific folder.
5. Re-start Sentinel... When Sentinel starts, it will re-write a new folder to replace the one that you deleted, and a fresh "user.config" file will be in that folder. That folder does not get deleted when you un-install Sentinel, so if the "user.config" file in there is corrupted, it will still be there when you re-install Sentinel.

• I got an error trying to install under Win10 saying that Net framework 2.0 is required
  • Go to Settings / Apps / Apps and Features then look at the right for Related Pages.
  • Select Programs and Features
  • Look for Turn Windows Features On or Off on the left. Selections for .net framework should be at or near the top

Conventional Issues and Fixes

• How do I put in service searches as favorites?

• Can I import conventional data from FreeScan into Sentinel?

Trunking Issues and Fixes

• How do I define an I-Call? Its not defined in the manuals
  • Note: This will only work with the Extreme Upgrade.

If you are doing it on the Unit and you wish to do ID Scan instead of ID Search simply create a Department named "ICalls" in the system in which you wish to monitor ICalls. Then create a new channel and call it ICall. Then Do the following:

• That's the "i" (Under the 7) followed by a zero (0).

The i will change to a period like above. Select Accept and you should be good to go.

• Note: If you are doing ID Search you should not have to do the above.
• 2nd Note: In Sentinel do the same thing except put in a
  • TGID of "i0" in a memory spot.
• If done correctly you should see something like this:

• Then ICalls should start to show up on the display

How do I Add a Rebanded System Manually? The RRDB doesn't have this information yet

Can the Home Patrol decode the new Phase II systems coming online?

• These systems are identified by Project 25 Phase II in the System Type in the database. Such systems cannot be received by Home Patrol 1, but can be by the Home Patrol-2.
