Notes:

  • 1. These departments (Sipesville, Addison, Scalp Level/Paint and New Baltimore provide assistance to EMS on cardiac arrests in their jurisdictions, and are equipped with AEDs. They are not licensed as QRS, though.
  • 2. Station 619 (Conemaugh Township - Krings) merged with Station 610 (Conemaugh Township - Ideal), and is now known as Station 610, Company 2 (Ideal is Company 1). Station 621 (Hollsopple) merged with Station 616 (Scalp Level/Paint) and is now know as Station 616, Company 2 (Scalp Level/Paint is Company 1).
  • 3. Station numbers 615, 634 and 643 refer to departments from outside of Somerset County that are not dispatched by Somerset 911, but which provide mutual aid to Somerset County fire departments.
  • 4. These stations (618, 629, 630) can be dispatched by adjacent 911 centers (618 by Garrett County MD, 630 by Allegany County MD and 629 by Bedford County PA).
  • 5. Shade Township VFD is a relatively new department, which is a substation of Richland Township VFD from Cambria County (Cambria Station 3). 633 is based in Somerset County, but is supported by units from Cambria on larger incidents.
  • 6. DART (Disaster Assistance Response Team) is a service provided by Conemaugh Hospital. At one time, there were several trucks stationed around this region; at this time, only one remains, and operates out of Conemaugh Hospital. It provides paramedic intercept services and mass-casualty support to units in Somerset and Cambria Counties.
