Special Area 2 is a region of east-central Alberta, similar to a county, but with no local government; it is run by the Special Affairs Board in the capital city of Edmonton. It is bordered by Stettler County, Paintearth County, and Special Area 4 to the north; Starland County and Wheatland County to the west; Newell County to the south; and Special Area 3 and Cypress County to the east.
