Code 2: Proceed urgently without lights and sirens
Code 3: Proceed urgently with lights and sirens (Sometimes shortened to “code”)
Code 15: No further assistance needed
Code 10: (Same as restricted traffic): Emergency situation - emergency radio traffic only.
10-8: Complete with assignment
10-42: Going home
81: Going to or at station
99/99 on Portable: Meal break

Abrievations

Mal Mis: Malicious mischief
CP: Calling party
RP: Reporting party
CapCom: Capital Communications (The police database)
Multiple Units: More than one unit trying to speak at once
“All systems on one by name”: Officer requesting dispatcher to run a person through the system by name to check for wants and warrants, as well as for the person’s appearance. (The number one can also vary depending on the amount of people the officer is requesting to be run. It also does not have to be by name. Can also be by number, which is the person’s driver’s license number)
Phone Detail: The dispatcher will call the officer to give him details about the circumstance
Requesting Cover: Wanting back-up
[Unit Number] Clear: Same as 10-8
ETA: Estimated Time of arrival
DL: Driver’s License
UTL: Unable to locate
GOA: Gone on arrival
HBD: Has been drinking
DUI/DWI: Driving under the influence/Driving while impaired
BLS: Basic life support
ALS: Advanced life support
On View: The officer saw something and is going to investigate it.
MVA: Multi-Vehicle accident
DIP: Drinking in public
DOC: Department of Corrections
DWLS: Driving while license suspended
MIP: Minor in possession
FI: Field Investigation DOA: Dead On Arrival.
