The University of Kentucky PPD & Maintenance has talk groups on this system however, Albert B. Chandler PPD operates on the UKMC LTR system still. It's believed that all Plant Services and Maintenance services will make a full transition to this system within the next 2 years or so. Some services like Alarm Maintenance and Dorm Maintenance have already started to operate while others are still on their UHF frequencies. Below is a layout for the use of the talk groups that have generic names.

General Information

The University Of Kentucky P25 system is utilized by many agencies and entities on-site and off-site. Admins, UK Property Security, UK Police, Maintenance, Etc operate on a series of channels. Admins Operate in the 1500 Talk Groups while UK Police operate in the 1100 Talk Groups. Lexington Police have a patch to this system if needed, UK Medical Center continues to operate on their LTR System. UK Plant Services Continue to utilize their Conventional Frequencies that can be found on the Fayette County Page. You Can Find Codes, Signals, And ID's Used By Law Enforcement and Admins above. This system is monitored and updated regularly.

Lexington Police & Lexington Fire have access and can patch to the system, this can be accomplished by University Dispatchers at the Communications Center located on campus or by an issued UK Radio to an officer or apparatus .
UK Wildcab service that is provided by UKPD, has operations on this Phase II system. UK Shuttle Buses also operate on this TRS, Shuttle Bus operations might sound like a car to car channel however this is bus drivers talking while on thier route. UK Wildcab Channel is car to car when Wildcab is not operating


TG 1570 AKA UK Fine Arts Admin, Some Spanish is spoken on this channel during the hours on 10:30 PM Eastern and 6:00 AM Eastern, Then normal English traffic comes through

Football Games

All departments/posts are dispatched from Command Center, On certain channels, you will hear them call for facilities dispatch. Facilities Dispatch is referring to all Concourse operations, Talkgroup 1333 is Facilities operations/Runners, Meaning If a Gate calls for Water or Chairs, Facilities Dispatch will call TG 1333 for a Delivery.

All Home Volleyball Games take place at the Memorial Coliseum. Uk Administration and Uk Campus Safety units attend the event for command and control. 800's units and 1-100's units are callsigns used while at the event.

All UK Men's Basketball Games take place at Rupp Arena (Now know as Rupp Arena @ Central Bank Center. Uk Administration and UK Police & Off Duty UK Healthcare security units attend the event for command and control.

Campus Law Enforcement and Safety

Univeristy Of Kentucky Police

The University of Kentucky has its own official Police Department and Sworn officers under KRS 164.950. UK Police manages all Safety and Security threw out the campus, including unsworn security services for UK Healthcare property and surrounding. UK Police has 17 divisions of operations rangeing from Bike Patrol to Dignitary Protection which is the permanent security team of the University's Board of Trustees, and The office of the president.

Univeristy Of Kentucky Security

The University Of Kentucky has 24/7/365 Security for All UK Medical Buildings, Campus Housing, and much more on property. Albert B. Chandler (UKMC) uses id numbers from 600-699 while operating as UKMC security and while off duty working security at UK Events and Athletics venues. UKMC security officers check into UK Communications (Radio) and the UKMC security office (Post 8) Post 8 dispatch uses the unit number 1600607 on a portable radio. Radio uses 5510102 & 5510101 when answering UK Security Officers. The backup unit ID for Post 8 is 1600602.

SafeCats

SafeCats is an escort service provided by the University of Kentucky and sponsored by the UK Police Department. All SafeCat officers are ROTC Cadets with UK Police Training, they provide an after hour escort service for students. All SafeCat officers are issued a UKPD Radio for direct contact with dispatch.
