General Information

The University Of Kentucky P25 system is utilized by many agencies and entities on-site and off-site. Admins, UK Property Security, UK Police, Maintenance, Etc operate on a series of channels. Admins Operate in the 1500 Talk Groups while UK Police operate in the 1100 Talk Groups. Lexington Police have a patch to this system if needed, UK Medical Center continues to operate on their LTR System. UK Plant Services Continue to utilize their Conventional Frequencies that can be found on the Fayette County Page. You Can Find Codes, Signals, And ID's Used By Law Enforcement and Admins above. This system is monitored and updated regularly.

Lexington Police have access and can patch to the system, this can be accomplished by University Dispatchers at the Communications Center located on campus. If you hear encrypted traffic on UKPD Dispatch channel, it is a patch from Lexington PD

Football Games

All departments/posts are dispatched from Command Center, On certain channels, you will hear them call for facilities dispatch. Facilities Dispatch is referring to all Concourse operations, Talkgroup 1333 is Facilities operations/Runners, Meaning If a Gate calls for Water or Chairs, Facilities Dispatch will call TG 1333 for a Delivery.

All home Soccer Games take place at the Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex. Boys and Females team both play at this complex. Admins and Safety Officers both attend this event for command and control. 600's and 1-100's units are callsigns used while at this event.

Campus Law Enforcement and Safety

Univeristy Of Kentucky Police Department

The University of Kentucky has its own official Police Department and Sworn officers under KRS 164.950. UK Police manages all Safety and Security threw out the campus, including unsworn security services for UK Healthcare property and surrounding. UK Police has 17 divisions of operations rangeing from Bike Patrol to Dignitary Protection which is the permanent security team of the University's Board of Trustees, and The office of the president.

Campus Safety and Protection

The University of Kentucky's campus is protected by UK Law Enforcement but also by Safety Officers. Good Sam Security operates on the Northern section of the Campus. They respond to calls and escorts per UKY E-911 Center, They check into posts and dispatch as law enforcement does and also completes security checks on multiple parts of the property. Chandler Hospital Security and UK Medical Center security operates on the southern part of the campus. They also complete security checks and check into posts and dispatch. Although VA Cooper is apart of the Federal Government UK Law and Safety do complete security checks at the building. Medical escorts for UK Healthcare to another Uk Healthcare hospital is called over the radio, It is an UK Campus Bike unit. Uk Healthcare Ambulances are Dispatched and Operated on A Conventional NXDN Freq which can be found on the Fayette County, KY Page located under hospitals.

SafeCats

SafeCats is an escort service provided by the University of Kentucky and sponsored by the UK Police Department. All SafeCat officers are ROTC Cadets with UK Police Training, they provide an after hour escort service for students. All SafeCat officers are issued a UKPD Radio for direct contact with dispatch.
