I received my new GRE PSR-700 scanner yesterday and found programming it to be fairly easy. However, I was surprised when I found out that the programming steps were not done as I had anticipated.

Firmware updates can be done using the software and the supplied USB cable but all other programming requires that the SD card be inserted into the computer.
