The West Virginia Air National Guard's 167th Airlift Wing is assigned the C-17A Globemaster III. The 167th AW is equipped with eight C-17A aircraft.

-The 167th based at Martinsburg is to re-equip in 2014. The C-5's currently assigned to it will be replaced by eight C-17's. This change was announced on 2/3/2012.
-The unit received their first C-17 on 9/25/2014, tail number 94-0070, which used the callsign Elvis 53 on the flight from it's former base in Memphis to Martinsburg.
