Whistler Official Upgrade (WOU)

The Whistler Official Upgrade procedure, is with a Paid Upgrade where the User pays for shipment to Whistler - Whistler then applies a new Boot Loader & Firmware Upgrade, then returned postage is paid by Whistler. Once, returned, continued forward support is possible via Whistler Repair & Support and Whistler's EZ-Scan Software, with all the additional features of a WS1080 (though the keypad/faceplate will remain unchanged on the Pro-18's which unique). This is for the the standard: GRE PSR-800 Radio Shack Pro-668 and Pro-18, all where designed off the GRE PSR-800 based scanners.

The Upgrade cost at a minimum of : one way shipping plus $59.99 with the correct model-specific Firmware. Unofficial hacked versions, that are locked or contain hacked Whistler Firmware will cost a minimum of: one way shipping plus $120. Additionally, if the scanner is using the Unofficial upgrade, there is potential that the scanner will have the ability to decode DMR transmissions CANCELED, if certain criteria are met, as well as LOCK the Bootloader, CPU, and DSP at it's current state. There is as an added bonus with the $120 variant - you can ask Whistler to replace or repair severely bad external parts, at their discretion, with the caveat as long as the scanner works and boot's-up. How do I know if my scanner is LOCKED?

• Check by Manually Programming a local DMR frequency and monitor for cleanly decoded DMR transmissions.
• Check to see which Splash Screen you have Radio Shack or GRE logos are ones without hack or Official Upgrade and are regular stock scanners. Whistler Logo's could be Official or Unofficial, try to update CPU to 4.7 or 4.8 in Whistler Software if it doesn't take it's more than likely the Unofficial-hacked version.
• Turn Scanner while it's loading (after power button is hit while Splash screen is displayed) holding MENU until you see Bootloader CPU DSP version screen, if it's DSP4.6 and CPU 3.1 try the first, don't update the date past May 31st, 2017 or a LOCKED and DMR decode will be canceled.
• Or in GREFwTool try to Apply original firmware
