Codes

Code N

Code N signifies an event as a newsworthy event.

The following are considered newsworthy:

Any citizen or firefighter with serious burns or loss of life
A structure fire with loss showing greater than $30k
Any type of multiple alarm fire
An accident where rescue with extrication is needed
Cliff or river rescues
A vehicle into a structure, with injuries
Any wildland or grass fire where structures are threatened
A wildland fire greater than 15 acres
A water vessel or aircraft with flames or large amounts of smoke showing
Any aircraft crash
A large vehicle fully involved
When a large group of vehicles is on fire
When a large amount of hazardous material is found
Evacuation or road closure due to hazardous materials
When MAST (Metro Arson Strike Team) requests a Code N

Code H

Code H signifies any event involving human interest not classified as Code N.

This would include the following:

A story involving the community
An event that would promote public relations with the community or media
