Roanoke County Fire & Rescue is a combination (career and volunteer) fire and rescue department serving Roanoke County, Virginia. Roanoke County Fire and Rescue is the largest combination fire and rescue department in the Commonwealth of Virginia west of Richmond. The department operates out of 11 fire stations, two EMS stations, one neighboring fire station, one administrative office, and a regional Fire-EMS training center. The department is responsible for providing fire and rescue coverage to an area of 251 square miles and a population of over 96,000 people. As of 2023, the department has 203 full time career personnel (uniform and civilian) and approximately 200 active volunteers. These volunteers, consisting of firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics, serve in most of the County's 13 stations. The department was founded in 1986. Before then, most of the stations that currently make up Roanoke County Fire & Rescue were their own independent volunteer fire and rescue agencies that covered their respective first due area of the county.

The new $8 million, 12,500 square foot fire and rescue station is expected to reduce demands on the Vinton stations as well as Botetourt County station 7 and Roanoke City station 14, which currently fill call gaps in this area. The Read Mountain Fire & Rescue station was established as a joint facility between Roanoke County and [[Botetourt County (VA)|Botetourt County]]. The station is located in Botetourt County, near the Roanoke County border. The station operated under the management of Roanoke County until July 2020, when a new operating agreement was signed and ownership was transferred to Botetourt County. The station was subsequently rebranded from Roanoke County Station 12 to Botetourt County Station 7. The Read Mountain station continues to be dispatched to calls by both jurisdictions, although Roanoke County will construct a new fire station in 2024, which will replace the Read Mountain station.
