Fire Tone Out (pager tones) - 2018 update
This is a work in progress - February 2018
All is based on an accumulation of information based 99.9% on monitoring activity.
The following tone pairs below were captured using the FTO Search function on the Uniden BCD536HP and confirmed with a Unication pager. Please note that tones not yet confirmed with the pager can be several Hz off and still page out for a given station and/or medic unit:
Note: Unit radio designations seem to change between the summer and fall timeframes. During the fall/winter, many (mostly) town units use the town name followed by their description (i.e. Shallotte Engine 1, Southport Tower 3, etc.). However, as spring approaches (late February?) and through the summer (until ???), unit designations switch to the format <station number> - <unit designation>. This results in "Shallotte Engine 1" becoming "15-71", "Southport Engine 1" becomes "3-71", etc. Some of this may be the result of additional units being routinely staffed during the spring/summer seasons but there are probably other reasons.
The unit numbers aren't full consistent but in most cases unit designators seem to be as follows: xx-6x - tower/truck xx-7x - engine (exception noted: Coastline EMS assigns -7x designators to their ambulance/transport units) xx-8x - smaller vehicles (chief's car, utility, first responder vehicle, etc.) xx-9x - ambulance/transport unit (may also be applied to some other "sepcialized" units like boats, etc.)
Radio unit designations below -60 seem to represent individual personnel designations with -00 being the Chief Officer designator.

Medic Units
It appears that single digit Medics are supervisors, Medics 1x and 2x are day shift and Medics 3x and 4x and night shift. Medic 6x are "fill in" during peak hours. And then there is Medic 51 which appears to be a Leland Medic unit.
