Code N signifies an event as a newsworthy event.
The following are considered newsworthy:
- Any citizen or firefighter with serious burns or loss of life
- A structure fire with loss showing greater than $30k
- Any type of multiple alarm fire
- An accident where rescue with extrication is needed
- Cliff or river rescues
- A vehicle into a structure, with injuries
- Any wildland or grass fire where structures are threatened
- A wildland fire greater than 15 acres
- A water vessel or aircraft with flames or large amounts of smoke showing
- Any aircraft crash
- A large vehicle fully involved
- When a large group of vehicles is on fire
- When a large amount of hazardous material is found
- Evacuation or road closure due to hazardous materials
- When MAST (Metro Arson Strike Team) requests a Code N
Code H
Code H signifies any event involving human interest not classified as Code N.
This would include the following:
- A story involving the community
- An event that would promote public relations with the community or media
