The first numerical digit indicates the station. Instead, what were formerly 10 codes are called signals. HANCOCK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT EMERGENCY CODES Able: An emergency in which rescue equipment is requested as a precautionary measure. Baker: An emergency which may result in a serious accident involving an aircraft which, due to the size or number of passengers, cannot be handled by on-base equipment. Charlie: A major accident requiring off airport assistance. India: An emergency involving an aircraft inbound to the Airport which is expected to land or crash before reaching the runway. There are four subdivisions: North (14); South (32); East (28); West (10). N: Hostage situation. X: Bomb threat. Z: Bomb threat, device found.
