Miscellaneous information:

-The system is used by the RCMP "H" Division (all of Nova Scotia), all provincial government departments, and many federal government departments. Its also used by volunteer public safety organizations as an inter-agency communications vehicle. Halifax Regional Municipality fire, police and public works are users, as well as the Town of Truro, and the City of Fredericton, New Brundwick

-TMR has only two zones, cutting the Province roughly in two around central Nova Scotia. All users work off of one of these two zones, and most radios are programmed with the Omni-link, so that they're allowed to roam between the zones. Note that the City of Fredericton's 3 repeater site were included with Zone 2.

A couple of other peices of basic information:

-TMRS has slightly over 9,000 users in Nova Scotia, overwhelmingly public sector and has one of the highest degrees of interoperable communications in North America

-Its a 69 site Motorola ASTRO Smartzone Omnilink, Version 3.5, Type 2 system in the 800Mhz range.

-The Province of Nova Scotia contract for the TMRS service is with Aliant Mobility and terminates in May 2010.

-The system uses C4FM P25 on the digital talkgroups.
