The following list details terms heard on the City of Pittsburgh Police radio channels. SWAT terminology is discussed in their separate Wiki section.

DRE - Drug Recognition Expert

The Board - "The Board” is a computer graph/table with the status of each individual Zone’s patrol vehicles. Sometimes it becomes necessary to clean-up "The Board” and get it back in order with the proper status of units.

Run-Down - The shift schedule for a particular Zone. The Run-Down is faxed to radio dispatch by the Zone lieutenant on duty for that shift.

Mover - A vehicle that is being stopped for a traffic violation.
