Athabasca County is a region of Alberta north of Edmonton. It is bordered by the Municipal District of Lesser Slave River, Municipal District of Opportunity, and Lac La Biche County to the north; Westlock County to the west; Thorhild County to the south; and Smoky Lake County to the east.
