Calvert County has several trunked radio systems (TRS) as well as a few conventional frequencies that make for interesting monitoring. Also, being close to the Chesapeake Bay means that these radio systems may be heard more easily by others along the Bay.

County Public Safety and Government
Calvert County is currently switching all public safety communications over to a new P25 Phase 2 TRS. The legacy Motorola SmartNet TRS is still operational and traffic can be heard on both systems.
