Department of State Health Services
The Texas Department of State Health Services is responsible for the state's Radiation Control Program and currently has one license from the FCC as seen here.
The 2 nuclear power plants that the department oversees are:
- Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant, Somervell County
- South Texas Project, Matagorda County
The department also oversees radiation exposure at the Pantex Plant outside Amarillo. This facility is charged with the security of our nation's nuclear weapon arsenal.
