Encryption

• Both the Sheriff Department and EMS have the ability to use encryption (DES-OFB multi-key).
• The Sheriff Department uses it regularly (but not full-time) when discussing ongoing investigations or issues related to juveniles.
• EMS will very soon begin encrypting almost all transmissions. Whether or not the initial dispatch will be encrypted remains to be seen.
