4 Squads; A through D
 
A&B Squad is day shift; C&D squad is night shift
 
12 hour patrol shifts, shifts change at 6am and 6pm, early cars change at 5:30 am and 5:30 pm, late cars change at 6:30am and pm.
 
Each squad is comprised of 1 captain, 2 sergeants, and 10 +/- officers
 
Traffic, DUI, and CSU work different and varied shift hours (usually 10 hour shifts)
 
Detectives work during the day and evening but are on call 24/7. You will hear some Detective activity on their channel or on TAC 1 or 2 at night if they are doing surveillance or a search warrant or working a crime scene, etc.
 
Alpharetta PD responds to all medical and fire calls within the city along with ‘Alpharetta Fire’ and/or ‘Rural/Metro Fulton Co. EMS’
 
Alpharetta PD radios are programmed with other cities/counties such as Forsyth County and other Fulton Co. agencies.
 
The Alpharetta City Jail is located at police headquarters and is staffed by Fulton County Sheriff’s Deputies. It is used by Milton, Fulton County PD and Sheriff’s Office and some federal agencies like the US Marshals Service for holding federal prisoners.

Fulton County Sheriff leases on the Fulton County Police talkgroup as car numbers 10xx (mainly in the new city of Chattahoochee Hill Country). Fulton County Sheriff provides all law enforcement services to the City of Chattahoochee Hill Country; their unit numbers are 12xx.
