The majority of stations in Guysborough County are dispatched by Canso Dispatch and Shubie Radio.
In addition to each station having their own VHF repeater, stations can also operate with each other and their dispatching provider through the Nova Scotia Integrated Mobile Radio System fire repeaters located at Cochrane Hill and Lundy (and possibly other repeaters), the Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island Trunked Radio (P25) "east" talkgroups, and the provincial mutual aid VHF simplex frequency 153.83
