TK-270 = VHF
TK-370 = UHF

There are 2 different versions of this radio. The older one is called simply the TK-270/TK-370. The newer one is the TK-270G/TK-370G.

TK-270/TK-370 (Older version)

  • 32 channels
  • CTCSS, DCS, DTMF signalling
  • Keypad-programmable
  • 5 watts

This radio is no longer produced by Kenwood.

TK-270G/TK-370G (Newer version)

  • 128 channels
  • CTCSS, DCS, DTMF, and 2-tone signalling.
  • Keypad-programmable
  • 5 watts

Programming

These radios can be programmed via the keypad. However, this option must be enabled through the software, and must have a component removed from the circuit board. If you have a radio that will not go into self-programming mode when you use the proper key combination (light button+dial button while turning the radio on), your radio has not been enabled for this option.
