Knox County Government
Knox County Sheriff's Department
10/23/07 - A story in the Galesburg Register Mail on Saturday says the Sheriff's Department is applying for a grant for 20 handheld Starcom21 portable radios. I posted recently that they were testing on the usual TG20, and apparently they discovered the SC21 radios fill in gaps in three places on their VHF high system (155.535, 136.5). Other agencies in Knox County are invited to apply under the sheriff's grant application and one community, Knoxville, says it will order one of 10 radio depending whether or not the county goes to StarCom21.
