==Md.Transit Administration Codes==

In keeping with the State of Maryland's move to follow Federal communications guidelines, the MTA no longer routinely uses 10-codes and has switched from the APCO phonetic alphabet to the NATO phonetic alphabet as of spring 2012. However, this change appears to not be enforced, and 10-codes and APCO letters are still commonly heard over the air.

*Fare Inspectors Notes: Any unit identifying with an Adam suffix is additional unit working the same post as another officer, e.g., 9S52 A is second unit in car 9S52. Usually used for Field Training Officers. Units that are working special details (baseball/football/overtime security detail) or off duty but still on the radio identify with the prefix Metro and the last three digits of their sequence number. Example: Metro9, Metro99 or Metro199. First's last three digits in sequence number would be 009, second's would be 099 and last would be 199.
