Information
NYSDOT Region 4 - Rochester:
HELP has been in service in the Rochester area since 2004. The program currently has 4 HELP beats that patrol almost 100 directional miles of the Region's principal highway network. The HELP program is dispatched at the Regional Traffic Operations Center (RTOC). In 2018, these four trucks logged over 4100 "assists".
Each HELP vehicle patrols a specific segment of the roadway called a "sector", the combination of one or more sectors creating a "beat". There are three beats in Region 4 that cover portions of I-490, I-390, NY 104, NY 590, and NY 531
Region 4 Trucks are numbered 101-105.
