The County Fire Coordinators are dispatched when 3 or more fire companies are dispatched to a fire or other incident. In the case of a major incident where numerous fire companies are needed, they determine where the resources will come from so as not to drain a specific area of all of its resources in the event that there is another incident. There is one coordinator for each county fire zone and a chief coordinator. They are all ex volunteer fire chiefs and are elected to their positions.

Zone 2 – Eagleswood Twp., Little Egg Harbor Twp., Long Beach Island, Tuckerton Boro.

Zone 3 – Bay Head Boro, Brick Twp., Lakewood Twp., Lavallette Boro, Mantoloking Boro, Ocean Beach and Ortley Beach sections of Toms River Twp., Point Pleasant Boro, Point Pleasant Beach Boro, Seaside Heights Boro, Seaside Park Boro, South Seaside Park section of Berkeley Twp.

Zone 4 – Jackson Twp., Lakehurst Boro, Manchester Twp., Plumsted Twp.

Zone 5 – Barnegat Twp., Lacey Twp., Ocean Twp.
