News Update and Long-term System Plans
From a meeting in Oneida with Onondaga & Madison counties, the following was noted about their respective systems:
- February 2nd - Syracuse PD goes live on Onondaga Co system
- Approx one month later Onondaga Co law enforcement agencies go live on the system
- After law enforcement, remaining users (Fire, EMS, DPW, etc.) will go live
- Day to day dispatching operations will not be encrypted (yay!) but special ops channels will be (don't quote me on this but I thought it was said to be DVP)
- Madison Co is likely a year away from building out the system, Oswego Co 18 months out
- Madison Co Emergency Services Director still would like SP Oneida as their 9-1-1 backup center
- Onondaga Co and Madison Co are installing CENTRACOM Gold Elite Consoles.
