The RadioReference.com Web Service

The RadioReference.com Web Service provides a common documented standard interface to the raw frequency and trunked radio data in the radio reference database. The primary benefit to this Web service is the ability for software developers to write applications that can support this standard process for accessing the data. Many software developers have written software that can program a scanner using data directly from the database.

Web Service Application Support

A premium subscription is required before the user can download data using this applications. Please see the link for more information.
RadioReference.com does not provide technical support for individual software programming applications. For technical support of any of these applications, please contact the individual developers and/or their respective organizations using the links below.

Supported scanners are shown in italics. Only those packages known to support the new SOAP based interface are shown here. Those that are still on the old XML service are shown in the web service1.1 article linked below.

Documentation

SOAP Web Service - The current production Web service. All application developers should be using this service for integration to the RadioReference Database.
RadioReference.com_Web_Service1.1 - The older REST based Web service (scheduled to be taken out of service on July 30th 2009)
Legacy REST based Service - still in service but no longer supported.

Developer Support

A mailing list has been created for developers who need support and have questions about how to use the Web service. In addition, news and announcements related to changes and updates to the Web service will be communicated here.

Developers of software applications that use the Web service are strongly encouraged to join the list.
