NOTE:    Sudbury EMS deployment resources may fluctuate and utilizes a number of mitigation strategies to ensure optimal emergency medical service delivery.

'''Reporting Stations'''

These are the locations where ambulances are permanently housed. Typically, paramedic crews will wait at these stations until they are dispatched by the Central Ambulance Communications Centre (CACC) to an emergency call.

'''Stand-by Locations'''

When a vehicle has been assigned to an emergency, its coverage area has been compromised if there is only one ambulance normally available in that area. CACC will then dispatch an ambulance from an adjacent service area to a predetermined location. This "stand-by" location is roughly half-way between the station whose ambulance is on a call and the station from which the "stand-by" crew came. This strategy is known as "balanced emergency coverage."

'''Deployment stations'''

From our main station at the Lionel E. Lalonde Centre in Azilda, Paramedic crews are deployed to a number of locations within the former City of Sudbury and Town of Nickel Centre. Scheduled shifts are staggered to ensure optimal use of our resources and balanced emergency coverage.
