Does anyone know the best settings for LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department, California)?  So far, I have found that a setting of "6 Auto" comes close, but the actual readings fluctuate ±1 of 1.40 1.60 1.80; ERRor rates fluctuate between normally 4 and 20 in this setting, but are sometimes as high as 140.  Distance of the TX site seams to effect the readings as well; closer TX sites, seem to get less ERRor rate and are closer to the "6 Auto" setting.

Interestingly, prior to the latest Uniden firmware update (BCD396T_V1_11_03 04/06/2006), the optimal setting for LAPD was "8 Auto."  Now, after the firmware update, this setting is no longer the best setting.  The firmware update has seemed to cause P25 reception for LAPD to be worse (in my opinion).

However, with all the above said, I still get the "digital," "underwater," "motorboat," warbling effect.  And now, especially after the firmware update, some LAPD transmissions don't even come in anymore or are chopping and cut out - especially at distant TX sites (I used to get with no problem).
