Texas Parks and Wildlife Department
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department was created in 1963 from the emrger of the State Parks Board and the Fish & Game Commission. Its duty is to preserve and protect the natural habitats of Texas and the wildlife that inhabits them, as well as to conserve and safeguard the recreation State Parks and historic places.
