Windsor County VT Map
Windsor County Law Enforcement Agencies & Communications
Law enforcement in Windsor County is primarily covered by two main agencies: Windsor County Sheriff and Vermont State Police (Royalton Barracks). There are a few towns that self-dispatch including Hartford and Windsor. The Hartford Regional Communications Center serves as back/overflow PSAP for Vermont.
Vermont State Police
VSP dispatches Chester Police Department on its own channel
Windsor County Sheriff’s Department
WCSD provides service throughout Windsor County and provides law enforcement for towns that do not have a PD or have a part-time agency. They operate on a multi-site repeater system, East and West. They do occasionally switch to VSP frequencies when assisting with certain incidents on the interstate.
Hartford Regional Communications Center
HRCC dispatches the following agencies on P25:
- Hartford Police Department
- Norwich Police Department
- Windsor Police Department (Including West Windsor VT)(Analog)
Other Towns
- Woodstock (Self-Dispatch)
- Ludlow (Self-Dispatch)
