Cary/Wake P25 TRS System Information

System Information

This is the Cary/Wake City Services, Project 25 simulcast digital radio system, which is shared by Apex and Morrisville.
The System ID is BEE00-596 and NAC of 591 is used on Site 1. Police communications from all three cities are full time
encryption, fire and public works are not encrypted.  

This does not include information for the future Site 2, which will be used and managed by Wake County. The new P25
simulcast system uses the same ID, but frequencies and NAC will be different.

Cary Tower Site locations:

Site 1: The North Tower is at Old Reedy Creek Road behind the Town of Cary 
North Water Reclamation Facility. Southwest side of tower, omni antenna pattern. 
(Tower is visible from I-40 near Harrison Avenue). 

Latitude:      35 – 50 – 08.2  N

Longitude:    078 – 46 – 29.0  W    HAMSL = 388 Feet    Antenna Height = 235/255 Feet


Site 2: Located at the 1575 foot FM broadcast site off 1010 Road east of Apex 
owned by Clear Channel. The Transmit antenna is at 1270 Feet on the North leg.
The receive antenna is at 1190 feet.  Antenna has Omni configuration, shaded to the south.

Longitude:      078 – 49 – 03  W    HAMSL = 470 Feet    Antenna Height = 1190/1270 
 

Site 3: The RTP Wake County tower site co-existing with the Wake County Radio 
System located on Highway 55 just north of I-540 Toll Road, Kit Creek area. 
West side of tower with Omni antenna pattern, shaded to the east.

Longitude:   078 – 53 – 38.6  W    HAMSL = 256 Feet     Antenna Height = 280/299 Feet

Backup Tower, near Hwy Ten-Ten/Apex Peakway in Apex, NC


The Conventional Emergency backup repeaters are located Northeast of Apex on a 
500 foot tower. The receive is on the Northwest leg at 480 ft. Transmit is on 
top @ 500 ft. , omni antenna pattern.

Cary Radio ID Ranges

Cary RID Ranges seem to follow a pattern, with Cary and Morrisville PD dispatched by Cary and Apex Police having a different set of dispatch IDs. All three cities are dispatched through Cary for fire and EMS services. NOTE: These ranges are based on over 3000 RIDs observed or monitored on the talkgroups assigned, the lower and upper limits of the ranges may not be absolute.
