They had been seeking a buyer to continue operations but faced unforeseen challenges, including the withdrawal of external funding that disrupted the sale process. "The sudden changes to the sale process, coupled with the pulling of funding, was unfortunately an unforeseeable event that has led to today's closure decision," First Brands Group explained in a statement.
