Empress EMS

Empress EMS is a private ambulance and emergency medical service provider. It offers pre- and post-hospital care, including 911 emergency response, advanced life support, basic life support, inter-facility transport, and specialized medical transport services. Empress EMS serves communities, hospitals, and healthcare facilities with highly trained paramedics and EMTs, utilizing state-of-the-art medical equipment and technology.

Dutchess County

Primary Provider of 911 EMS response for the City of Poughkeepsie and the Town of Wappenger. It also has dedicated ALS & BLS Units that cover Arlington, Beekman, East Fishkill, Pawling, Town of Fishkill, and Union Vale
Empress EMS now has three units dedicated to the county to help cover calls. These units stand at specific posts around the county and are called as needed. Empress EMS History

  • Sloper-Willen EMS has served Southern Dutchess and Putnam Counties since 1958. In 2004, it was acquired by Alamo EMS.
  • Alamo EMS was sold to TransCare EMS in 2009.
  • TransCare EMS declared bankruptcy in 2016; Empress EMS acquired some parts of its operations and took over various operations and contracts that TransCare previously held following its collapse​
  • Empress EMS acquired EMStar EMS in June 2021
  • Empress EMS acquired Mobile Life Support Services in June 2023
