The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is pleased to announce the transition from analog radio communications to a state-of-the- art digital platform. The new Motorola System integrates cutting edge technology, tailored specifically to meet the Sheriffs Office operational needs. By utilizing existing government towers and strategically positioning communication equipment, the system has been optimized for maximum performance, without imposing additional costs to taxpayers. One of the most notable improvements is the interconnection of communication repeater sites throughout Franklin County. This enhancement ensures broader coverage and reliability for Deputies working in the rural areas of the county where the previous outdated system under-performed. This project was initiated approximately 2.5 years ago by former Sheriff David Bartoni and was paid for utilizing federal funds obtained through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021. Thank you to the Franklin County Board for your support of this important public safety project. We also express our gratitude to Novacom Communications for their exceptional engineering and installation services. I believe the citizens of Franklin County will be better served as a result of this enhanced communication technology. Sheriff Kyle Bacon
