County seat - Jefferson

Greene County uses two primary VHF frequencies for public safety communications. Both are fed to Broadcastify.

The first is Greene County, Iowa - Fire Dispatch (154.205 MHz). This is used only for setting off pagers and alerting members of calls. There is no fire unit traffic on this channel.

The second is the primary Greene County VHF channel. (153.800 MHz). This is used for the Greene County Sheriff's Office, Greene County Ambulance, all Greene County FDs, and the Jefferson PD.

  • 20-29 - Jefferson PD
  • 30-39 - Jefferson FD
  • 40-49 - Grand Junction FD
  • 50-59 - Scranton FD
  • 60-69 - Churdan FD
  • 70-79 - Rippey FD
  • 80-89 - Paton FD
  • 90-99 - Greene County Ambulance (located in Jefferson)


Greene County is #37 in the "alphabetical county list" for Iowa, so you'll more times than not hear a unit referred to as "37-xx" on the air.

As of 01 APR 25, Greene County ISICS is fully operational. Fire/EMS dispatch still takes place on VHF, not on ISICS. All other Greene County public safety traffic will be on the ISICS system. New TGs will be listed in the RR ISICS database as they are discovered and published.
