Turnpike Maintenance Department Districts

  • District 1 (Swedesboro): Mile 0 to 27.5
  • District 2 (Moorsetown): Mile 27.5 to 48.5 (Southern Division)
  • District 3 (Crosswick): Mile 48.5 to 61.8 and Pearl Harbor Memorial Turnpike Extension
  • District 4 (Hightstown): Mile 61.8 to 75.5
  • District 5 (Milltown): Mile 75.5 to 90.1
  • District 6 (Elizabeth): Mile 90.1 to 105.0
  • District 7 (Newark): 75.5- Northern Terminus including Newark Bay-Hudson County Extension and Interchange 14 (Northern Division)
  • District 8 (Seascaucus): Mile 105 SNI-NSI to I80/I95 122.5 (Eastern Spur)
  • District 9 (Jersey City): Mile n0.0 to N8.5 Including Interchange ramps for 14, 14A, 14B, and 14C
  • District 10 (E. Rutherford): Mile 105 SNO-NSO to 118W Western Spur
  • District 5A (Woodbridge): This building is now Central shops. All parts used on the turnpike and parkway come from here. When in snow operations they are on the Elizabeth District channel.

Turnpike Maintenance Roadway Divisions

  • Southern Division: Mile 0 to 75.5 Districts 1-4 including Pearl Harbor Memorial Turnpike Extension
  • Northern Division: Mile 75.5 to 122 Districts 5-10 including Newark Bay – Hudson County Extension

Turnpike Trades Divisions

  • Southern Division: Mile 0 to 53.3 (Interchange 7)
  • Central Division: Mile 53.3 to 90 (Interchange 11)
  • Northern Division: Mile 90 to 122 (Northern terminus)

Parkway Maintenance Districts

GSP Maintenance South: Districts 1-4

GSP Maintenance Central: Districts 5-6

GSP Maintenance North: Districts 7-8

  • District 1 (Swainton): Mile 0 to 30.2
  • District 2 (White Horse): Mile 30.3 to 63.8
  • District 3 (Ocean): Mile 63.9 to 91.8
  • District 4 (Herbertsville): Mile 91.9 to 106.5
  • District 5 (Telegraph Hill): Mile 106.6 to 125
  • District 6 (Clark): Mile 125.1 to 145
  • District 7 (Clifton): Mile 145.1 to 160.1
  • District 8 (Paramus): Mile 160.1 to 172.3

Turnpike Authority Headquarters is the old Hess building on Route 9.

The Garden State Parkway is in the process of implementing a Northern and Southern Division similar to the turnpike operations, on the nights and weekends. As of now Maintenance on the Parkway is done for the day at 3pm.
