Fire Apparatus Identifiers
0 - Officers
1 - Engine (Pumper)
2 - Mini Pumpers
3 - Rescue/Extrication
4 - Van/Utility/Storage
5 - Truck (Ladder/Aerial Apparatus)
6 - Scuba (Vehicle/Boat)
7 - Special Apparatus (Foam/Haz Mat/Auxilary)
8 - Tanker
9 - Brush/Field Unit
All apparatus are identified by four numbers. The first two numbers are the fire station
number. The second number is assigned by the individual fire department. The third number is
the apparatus type, taken from the list above.
Example: Station 24 - Herbertsville Fire Company (Brick Twp.)
Engine 2431
24 is the station number
3 is the number assigned to the engine by the fire company
1 is the apparatus type taken from the list above (Engine)
EMS Unit Identifiers
0 - Officer
1 thru 8 - Transport Rigs
9 - Crash Trucks
All EMS rigs are identified by three numbers. The first two numbers are the EMS Squad
number. The last number is the unit type taken from the list above.
Example: Squad 40 - Tri-Boro First Aid Squad (Seaside Park)
Ambulance 408
40 is the squad number
8 is the unit type taken from the list above (Transport Rig)
