MEMS Ambulance Unit Numbers and Designation

  • ALS Units
    • All ALS units are numbered with 3 numbers. The second two numbers are the box number. The first number is the chassis it's on. For example, unit 501 is box #1 on its fifth chassis. It's been remounted five times. Unit 139 is box #39 on its first chassis (this unit hasn't been remounted yet), MEMS ALS units are bulit by Excellance ambulance on Chevy chassis. They are remounted around every 250,000 miles or so
  • They're are 40 ALS units. 501-140
  • BLS Units
    • MEMS also uses BLS units for non emergency transfers. These units are numbered in the 70's. 71-78 are BLS units.
  • Admin Units
    • 951 - Executive Director
    • 953 - Operations Director
    • 954 - Shift Supervisor - Also goes by the call sign "Sierra."
    • 955 - Faulkner County shift supervisor. Also goes by the call sign "Foxtrot."
    • 956 - First Response unit
    • 957 - Operations Vehicle - Also answers to the call sign "Oscar."
    • 907 - Staff Vehicle
    • 908 - SORT/MCI unit.
