Stokes County utilizes VIPER full-time for all public safety operations. Fire is still simulcasted on VHF.
Before switching to VIPER in 2014, law enforcement agencies in Stokes County were dispatched on 453.050 (PL 141.3 Hz). 453.725 and 453.800 were utilized as well. Fire dispatch occurred on 154.265 (F1) and fireground operations utilized 151.205 (F2). EMS dispatch occurred on 156.195. After completing the migration to VIPER, Fire and EMS dispatch traffic remained patched to VHF, but law enforcement operations on 453.050 fell silent.
