Union County Fire Department
- Fire protection, prevention, and emergency services within the borders of Union County and the City of Blairsville. The staff are also operational members of the Emergency Management Agency of Union County. The department is a combination department consisting of 12 stations. Station 1 is the Headquarters station and is centrally located near the City of Blairsville. The other stations are strategically located throughout the county.
The members of the department include the career staff of 16 firefighters and officers. Four firefighters and an officer each shift at Station 1. One firefighter stationed in Suches M-F from 08:00 to 16:00. The administration staff includes one administrative assistant, one EMA staff person, one Battalion Chief, and the Fire Chief. The volunteers consist of 85 firefighters and officers who operate, manage, and respond from the volunteer stations. - 'Waste Treatment Plant/Facility treats all wastewater coming from the City of Blairsville’s gravity collection system along with waste from three pressurized lift stations including Walmart, NGTC, and the Union County Industrial Park.
- Water/Sewer & Street Maintenance Department 8 full-time employees who care for and maintain the city's water/sewer lines, street lighting, all city streets, sidewalks, parks and municipal buildings and city landscaping.

Blairsville Airport (KDZJ)

- Operated by the City of Blairsville, approximately 2.5 miles outside of the city limits at 579 Airport Terminal Rd.
- Runway is 100' wide and 5000' long and can accommodate most general aviation airplanes, including single and twin engines and small jets. Runway 8 threshold is displaced 986 feet with an LDA at 4,018 feet and Runway 26 threshold displacement is 685 feet with LDA at 4,319 feet.
