Explanation of numbering
- 01-09 are officers example
- 101 and all 01 are chiefs 101 would be centre chief
- 10-39 are firefighters example 310 would be a german township firefighter
- 40-49 are engines example is 441 is harris township engine 1
- 50-59 are tankers example is 551 is lakeville tanker 1
- 60-69 are rescues example is 661 is madison township rescue 1
- 70-79 are squads/grass rigs example is 971 is new carlisle grass rig 1
- 80-89 are special use vehicles such as inspectors cars and other various vehicles example would be 481 is a harris township inspector. some departments use this as extra numbers for firefighter as many fd's don't have special vehicles 90-99 are ladder and tower ladders example is 291 is clay ladder 1
- 00 only anything of this signifies the station is in service
- 1000 in service means liberty township station is in service. dispatcher then knows that if they have to call they can ask for somebody at the base. Departmen't that have 2 stations use the first name of the department and which station is in service
