The feature of a scanner to periodically check another channel or set of channels for a transmission, regardless of whether the scanner is unmuted on a transmission.
This may cause undesired breaks in the audio while listening to a transmission.
Some Uniden scanners provide the Priority Plus feature where only channels designated as priority channels are scanned.
