Denton City Police Unit IDs

• Adam units are School SRO's
• Charles units are Detectives/Investigators/Narcotics
• Edward units are Enviromental Enforcement on one of these
• Frank units are Fry street (UNT area not UNTPD though) as well as fight units
• King units are K9 units also used on UNT channels
• Lincoln units are traffic units
• Paul Units are Parking Enforcement (just carry a radio and a ticket book)
• Robert units are reserve units usually on Event channels for events or on weekends
• Sierra units are UNT sergeants (not on Denton PD unless on mutual aid)
• William units are not known at this time (the chief?)
• X-Ray units are regular patrol units (the first number before X-ray is their shift; assigned sergeants, lieutenants and captains are intermixed with all of these IDs, they do not have a special ID)

• 2 Supervisors per shift, with "1" (Lt.) and "2" (Sgt.) designators. (Ex. Adam 1 is 1st shift Lt., Adam 2 is 1st shift Sgt.)

• Package: A "package" can be several different things
  • Sometimes an officer will pick up his child from school, and take the child home. The officer will refer to the child as a "package". (Ex. "I'll be enroute to ABC Elementary to pick up a package.")
  • Can also refer to food. Often an officer will check out at a restaurant to pick up food for Dispatch, and the food is refered to as a package.
  • It can also be used to describe any property that the officers, for whatever reason, don't want broadcast. (I.E. drugs, etc.)
