Hexadecimal, or hex is a base-16 numbering system written using the symbols 0–9 and A–F (or a–f). Each symbol has 16 possible values, from 0 through 15.

For example:

 16 decimal =  10 hex
256 decimal = 100 hex
380 decimal = 17C hex
