Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center

In August 2009, Montgomery County opened the Regional Dispatch Center (RDC), it is a 21,000 square foot facility located at the site of the former Mound Laboratories in Miamisburg. It is staffed by civilian dispatchers and call evaluators who are supervised by Sergeants from the Sheriff's Office.

Vandalia Fire has sold/closed Station 3 on N Dixie Dr and the building has been torn down 
and is being replaced with some type of factory/distribution center being constructed.

Vandalia Fire was issued county Station 91 for Station 1 and county Station 92 for Station 2, 
however Vandalia does not use county station or apparatus numbers under any circumstances.

1. Each community/agency uses its name before the unit number.
Example: Brookville 110 is Brookville PD, Midnight Watch, Supervisor.
The community/agency names used are as follows:

Sheriff Codes and Signals


Many police agencies in Montgomery County have ceased use of the codes and signals 
in favor of "clear text", also known as "clear speak" using no codes and signals of
any type. However, several agencies still use them. The disposition codes in the
second section are still used by most agencies, even those now using "clear text".

Dayton Police are dispatched by the Montgomery County Sheriff Regional Dispatch
Center using Dayton PD talk groups. MCSO RDC does not use the
prefix "Dayton" like the other county dispatched agencies due to the volume of 
radio traffic.

Ohio State Highway Patrol

Montgomery County is served by OSP Post 57 Dayton, located at 400 Smith Drive, Clayton, Ohio. This post was consolidated with former Post 68 Eaton in 2005. In addition to Montgomery County, Post 57 patrols all of Darke and Preble counties. All communications use the Ohio MARCS-IP statewide system.
