==Mission==
In accordance with the Department of Defense's 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Committee, all of its aircraft have been allocated to other units within the United States Air Force. The 178th FW is a flying training organization falling under the joint command of the Air National Guard and the Air Education and Training Command (AETC). The 178th FW is currently training pilots of the Royal Netherlands Air Force 306th Squadron through 2010 in an agreement between the United States and the Netherlands.
 
 
 
==Flying Operations==
 
 
 
For air combat training the 178th FW typically operate in the Buckeye and Brush Creek Military Operations Area (MOA) in southern Ohio. The MOAs are controlled by the Ohio Air National Guard's 123rd Air Control Squadron located at Blue Ash Municipal Airport in suburban Cincinnati.
